We’re now a month into the new year so I thought it might be a good time to upate you with my progress so far this year. If you remember, I mentioned that I would be in a weight loss challenge with another rider from our Saturday group rides.
Weight Loss Challenge
That challenge is going OK but I haven’t see the gaines (losses) I had hoped for. Perhaps I was further out of shape than I thought. Part of my problem last month was that I didn’t ride enough. In my opinion. For the month of January 2015 I rode 212 miles. That’s OK but I only averaged 2.5 rides per week with Saturday’s being my longer rides of about 25 miles.
My eating was so-so for the month as I know I didn’t drink enough water or stick to my eating plan as well as I should have. A new month means a fresh start though.
30 Days of Exercise
One thing that I am happy about for the month of January is that I did some form of exercise every single day! I don’t know if I’ve ever done that before in my life. I don’t want to embellish this as some days only consisted of pushups and/or planks. But I did something every day. You gotta start somewhere.
Looking to February
For the month of February I want to continue where I left off and strive to get better with my eating and riding. February will mark month two of the weight loss challenge so I really want to hit it hard and be consistent over the entire month. One of the things I’m going to attempt is to ride every single day. I’ve never ridden every day in a month so I’m looking forward to the challenge.
