		<description>The only reason I haven&#039;t suspected the bottom bracket is because the noise persists whether I&#039;m pedaling or not.  My bottom bracket probably needs overhauled anyway so that&#039;s good enough a reason to check it out.</description>

		<description>lol.  OK, I done the snot thing to myself.  Sad I know, but had wind blow back.  

The creaking could be the bottom bracket.  Might pull it an see what it looks like. I had the same issue on my Trek 7300 and discovered I had a slight crack in one of the cups and everytime the right pedal was in the forward position, I would get the creaking.  When I replaced the cranks, I moved to an outboard bottom bracket and no more noise, which was driving me nuts by the way.</description>
