Hi... Long time lurker/admirer. I don't remember what you said re: budget, but have you considered getting a bike with a SRAM gruppo? For instance, the Cannondale CAAD9 4 with Rival drivetrain (but Force crank) is $1800 and only $300 more than the CAAD9 5 with 105 drivetrain (and FSA crank). Having been on both, the Rival system is noticably nicer than 105 and on par with Ultegra.

@RUV: Thanks for the comment and lurking/admiring. I hadn't looked at SRAM but $1800 is probably going to be out of my budget.

@DC: I haven't read "We might as well win" so I can't rate it. Anybody else read it?

Bryan,
Your list of 20 best books- "We might as well win" how do you rate it Ten? Five?

Number one worst Bicycling Book "My Life on the Bus" Michael Berry
Boring....He takes a story about Sheryl Crow boarding the team bus with
a copy of her not yet released CD and makes it a sleepfest!!!

The link I gave points to the 2010 model. I think the one in the store was an 08, or maybe an 09, and had full ultegra. I like the top tube too.

i just clicked on the bianchi link, the top tube alone makes the bike a coveted item. What I really liked though was they are giving you the 105 group except for the upgraded rear derailer. As a fat guy riding the hills of Pittsburgh, The rear derailer gets a workout!

Good luck on the search
